You will have a seamless journey as you watch their history unfold and add meaning to your trip, which you will recall for many years to come.
DAY 1 Vienna
Welcome to Vienna! Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure to take in this 'City of Music', home to classical composers like Beethoven, Mozart and Schubert. In the evening, join your fellow travellers and Tour Manager for a Welcome Drink.

DAY 2 Vienna
Start the day with a visit to St. Stephen's Cathedral, the seat of the archbishop of Vienna, and the Hofburg Palace, the former imperial palace of the Habsburg dynasty in Austria. Continue onto Belvedere Palace (a Baroque palace housing an art museum), Prater Amusement Park (built in the 19th century) and the UN Buildings (one of four global offices). The afternoon is yours to enjoy the local specialties, such as the Wiener Schnitzel, Sacher Cake or Apple Strudel. At night, why not take up the optional tour to see a classical concert of Strauss's & Mozart's music?

DAY 3 Vienna - Budapest
On your way to Hungary today, stop at Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia surrounded by vineyards and the Little Carpathian Mountains, crisscrossed with forested hiking and cycling trails. Later, see Esztergom which used to be the capital of Hungary from the 10th to the mid-13th century. At last, arrive in Budapest, bisected by the Danube River, with dinner and overnight.

DAY 4 Budapest
Embark on a sightseeing tour including all the main attractions: The Parliament (the third largest in the world), the Royal Palace (a.k.a the Buda Castle), the Castle Hill area, Fisherman's Bastion (famous for its turrets and spires), the Matthias Church (built in 1255), Heroes' Square (noted for its Millennium Monument) and Gellert Hill with its Citadel (offering a panoramic view of the city). Later, you have free time to explore the 'Paris of the East', shop along the Vaci Utca, sip some Hungarian wine or try the national dish Goulash.

DAY 5 Budapest - Krakow
After breakfast, depart for Krakow where the road winds through the hills and countryside of Slovakia, past the Tatras Mountains, and into the rolling plains of Poland. Krakow is known for its well-preserved medieval core and Jewish Quarter, having earnt itself UNESCO World Heritage status due to its long history. Check into your hotel and unwind after a day of traveling.

DAY 6 Krakow
Your city tour this morning begins with Wawel Hill, a viewing of the Royal Castle and visiting the Royal Cathedral. Next, go on a walking tour of the Old Town and see the Main Market Square (dating back to the 13th century) and Renaissance Cloth Hall (Krakow's oldest commercial centre), before visiting St. Mary's Church (one of the best examples of Polish Gothic architecture). The balance of the day is at your disposal, to go for a stroll, browse through the stores, sample some 'pierogi' or 'sernik', or simply relax.

DAY 7 Krakow - Warsaw
In the morning, join the tour to Auschwitz-Birkenau, the notorious concentration camp from World War II and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Polish Government has preserved it as a research centre and in memory of the 1.1 million people who died there, including 960,000 Jews during the Holocaust. Afterwards, arrive in Poland's capital and largest city Warsaw and check into your hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 8 Warsaw
Deliberately annihilated in 1944 as a repression of the Polish resistance to the Nazi German occupation, the 700- year-old Warsaw is a symbol of Polish nationhood and the will to survive against great odds. Drive along the famous Royal Route from magnificent Castle square to Lazienki Park and Palace, the summer residence of the last king of Poland. Pass by the 'Wedding Cake', the Saxon Gardens, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Monument to the Heroes of the Warsaw Ghetto and Barbican. Proceed with a walking tour of the Old Town, Old Market Square and St. John's Cathedral. You can arrange the rest of the day yourself, either visiting museums, enjoying parks and gardens or going shopping. In the late afternoon, what better way to end your time on the tour than an optional Chopin concert?

DAY 9 Warsaw
Following breakfast, your tour concludes with a departure transfer to the airport for your onward journey.
